Urology

RetiMed family is at your service for all diagnosis and treatment of female and male urinary tracts and male reproductive organs. Our urology physicians are with you in all diseases related to kidneys, ureters, bladder, urethra, testicles, penis, scrotum, and prostate gland organs. Your health is valuable to us. All your inspections and treatments are performed in our clinic with the latest technology methods.

ROBOTIC SURGERY

It is widely used in the treatment of prostate cancer. Robotic operations for prostate cancer are more advantageous for the patient than conventional open operations. Less pain, faster recovery, more effective disease control, and lower complication rates are present in Robotic Prostate cancer operation.

The procedures in which we apply the robotic surgery system;

  • Robotic prostate cancer operations (robotic radical prostatectomy)
  • Robotic benign prostate enlargement operations (robotic transvesical prostatectomy)
  • Robotic kidney cancer operations (robotic partial/total nephrectomy)
  • Robotic bladder cancer operations and robotic artificial bladder
  • Robotic reconstructive operations (kidney outflow tract obstruction, ureter stenosis)
  • Robotic anti-reflux operations in children and adults
  • Robotic adrenal gland operations (surrenalectomy)

STONE DISEASES

Kidney stones are common all over the world. It should be treated meticulously in safe hands so that it does not cause bigger health problems in the future. Holmium and thulium laser lithotripsy, percutaneous nephrolithotomy, and laparoscopic stone treatments are used in the treatment of stone disease.

Stone diseases can also be seen in children. The health of our children, who are our future, is precious. Treatment methods suitable for children are applied in our RetiMed clinics. Flexible laser lithotripsy and percutaneous nephrolithotomy operations are frequently performed for the treatment of stones in children. Techniques that do not contain radiation are preferred, especially in the procedures performed in children.

UROLOGICAL CANCERS

The incidence of this type of cancer is increasing day by day. All kinds of urological cancers can be diagnosed and treated under our roof with our expert staff.

Prostate cancer

Prostate cancer unfortunately affects one out of every 6 men today. Definitive diagnosis is determined via prostate biopsy.

It is possible to get rid of the disease with radical surgery in the early stage. Radical surgery is performed with robotic technique. After the robotic radical prostatectomy performed in our center, urinary incontinence is reduced to almost zero in patients. In suitable patients, the erection capacity can be preserved by performing an operation with a nerve-preserving technique.

Bladder cancer

It is one of the most common types of cancer seen in men. It is seen 3-4 times more in men than in women. Smoking and chemical exposure are among the most common causes. In early stage tumors, cystoscopic inspection is required. In cystoscopic inspection, the tumor can be completely removed and subjected to pathological inspection. If the tumor has gone into the deep layers of the bladder or if the tumor is very widespread, the bladder should be completely removed and an artificial bladder should be constructed from the intestine. This operation is performed in the healthiest way with robotic surgery.

Kidney cancers

It is more common in men than women. Smoking, obesity, high blood pressure, and certain chemicals trigger the formation of kidney cancer. It is usually asymptomatic and rarely presents with flank pain and blood in urine. The treatment of kidney tumors is surgery. The procedure to be performed is decided together with our physician according to the course of the disease. In early stage and small tumors, only the removal of the mass is sufficient. In large tumors, the entire kidney may need to be removed. Surgical operations are performed by our specialist physicians with robotic techniques.

Testicular cancers

These are types of tumors that are usually seen at a young age in men. It is commonly seen in people between the ages of 18-35. It appears as a painless and palpable hard mass in the testis. As soon as the diagnosis is made, it should be removed surgically before it progresses. It can be cured at a rate of 95-99% in early stage patients. It is also applied according to the type and stage of the tumor. Some patients may require radiotherapy.

A surgical procedure called lymphadenectomy is required after chemotherapy in advanced stage patients and in cases with high tumor burden. Since the testis produces the sperm necessary for reproduction, the reproductive ability of the person may be impaired during the cancer treatment. For this reason, the most accurate treatment map will be determined for you, thanks to the discussions and joint decision made by our physicians, and your sperm will be frozen and stored before the treatment.

BENIGN PROSTATIC HYPERPLASIA TREATMENT

Benign prostatic hyperplasia, also known as BPH, becomes an important problem for men as they age. It starts in your 50s and can affect your comfort of life. It gives symptoms such as frequent urination, difficulty urinating, inability to urinate, and urination at night. Approximately half of the patients require surgical treatment.

The technique chosen is of great importance at this point in order for the treatment to be successful. Our physicians will tell you about the treatment options and choose the most suitable treatment for you, allowing you to regain your quality of life. The method to be chosen is determined by the patient's prostate size and current disease status. Currently, the standard treatment is TUR-p (trans-urethral resection of the prostate). However, laser techniques applied in our clinics offer patients a more comfortable treatment with less complication rates. At the beginning of these new techniques is the treatment of the prostate with Holmium laser and Thulium laser.

PENIS ESTHETIC

Genital area esthetics has been applied frequently in recent years. Correction of penile curvature is one of these frequently preferred procedures. Penile curvature can occur congenitally or later. It can prevent sexual intercourse. In this case, our specialist physicians will follow up the process of performing the necessary procedures in order to form the penis into the correct shape. The penis is usually corrected by surgical procedures performed under anesthesia.

Surgical thickening and lengthening of the penis is also possible. Patients who are not satisfied with their penis size can discuss with their physicians and determine the most appropriate roadmap for their health. With the surgical technique, the penis can be extended by 1.5-3.5 cm. Moreover, the penis can be thickened naturally with fat injection into the penis in the same session.

MALE REPRODUCTIVE AND SEXUAL HEALTH

Men are sexually active throughout their lives. And their reproductive abilities continue throughout life. However, this situation can deteriorate due to many factors.

Despite having regular sexual intercourse for 1 year, couples may not be able to have children. At this point, both men and women should be examined by a specialist physician. The urology department is responsible for the examination and evaluation of the male. A number of tests are performed under the control of your physician and the most appropriate treatment process for you is determined according to sperm analysis. Most patients are supported with medical treatment, but some patients may require surgical intervention. In the presence of varicocele, microsurgical varicocelectomy can be performed. When faced with the situation of azoospermia, surgical procedures can be applied to produce sperm.

Erectile dysfunction is also common in men. It increases in prevalence especially in the presence of diseases such as advanced age, diabetes, and blood pressure, and in chronic medication use. A person with an erection problem should first be examined by a physician, tests and controls should be performed. Inspections should be performed for the underlying causes. There are very effective medications available for solving the erection problem. If the patient wants a more permanent effect during the physician's consultations, shock wave therapy can be applied in the first-line treatment. This treatment is performed by giving a low-intensity shock wave to the penis in sessions. It is an effective treatment for people with mild to moderate erection problems.

Penile prosthesis is applied in advanced erection problems and when there is no response to treatments. There are different types of penile prostheses as single, two, and three piece. We apply all types of prosthesis in our clinic. You can decide on the most suitable prosthesis for you, accompanied with your physician.
